Gait Analysis

Gait analysis using three-dimensional (3D) systems is currently the gold standard for the measurement of gait parameters including spatial, temporal, 3D kinematic and dynamic surface electromyography (EMG). Such information is crucial when considering a rehabilitation approach or for clinical decision-making.

Steadys has various configurations to fit your needs. You can get a system for a quick 2-minute gait screening or an expert one for a comprehensive gait analysis that allows recording all mentioned parameters.

Comprehensive Gait Analysis

Using Steadys system you can analyze the following gait parameters:

• temporal: gait cycle, gait phase (stance phase, single support, double support, first double support, second double support, swing phase), gait rhythm, cadence 
• spatial: stride length, gait speed, foot clearance, circumduction
• 3D kinematic: flexion/extension, adduction/abduction, internal/external rotation of the hip, knee and ankle joints
• surface EMG from up to 24 muscles

Steadys system is optimized to streamline the gait analysis to the maximum. Depending on the configuration used, one exam takes only 5 to 10 minutes!

3D Kinematics and Dynamic EMG Recording by One Sensor

Now you don’t have to use an additional EMG system to analyze dynamic EMG when walking. Both movement and EMG data are recorded with one device — the Neurosens inertial measurement unit (IMU) sensor. These miniature watch-sized electronic devices are positioned on the patient and can record acceleration and angular velocity by three axes (ensured by the built-in 3D gyroscope and 3D accelerometer) as well as EMG data from two differential channels.

Since one device employs movement and EMG data recording, this information is fully synchronized and does not require any additional actions.

Interface Optimized for Clinical Use

Steadys software has been developed specifically for clinical use. It features:
