The dependence of standard values on the patient’s age in the software Neuro-MEP.NET.

The normative values used in the Neuro-MEP.NET software are based on the patient's age because children and adults have different anatomical and physiological characteristics, including the nervous system.

When examining nerve conduction in children, it's important to consider that not only do children's norms differ from those for adults, they also change based on the child's age. A study conducted by the Mayo Clinic in Minnesota, USA, has shown that there are differences in amplitude, nerve conduction velocity, and sensory distal latency between six different age groups under the same conditions.

To apply the correct normative values, the clinician needs to enter the patient's date of birth into the patient's card in Neuro-MEP.NET. After that, the software will automatically calculate the results of the examination and compare them with the norms for the patient's age.

Neurosoft continuously improves its electromyography equipment (EMG) and introduces new and useful features. If you would like to purchase our equipment or you have any questions, please feel free to contact us by phone +7 4932 95-99-99 or by e-mail info@neurosoft.com.
