Nikita Gorbachev from Sechenov University (Moscow) won the “Step Up” competition in the “Polysomnography” category. His project is devoted to the study of the phenomenon of Restless Legs Syndrome symptoms intensification during medication treatment. Most patients with this pathology suffer from sleep disorders, which negatively affects their quality of life. The study will help learn more about why some patients experience an increase in symptoms as a result of therapy and whether other, non-pharmacological treatments can be used.
The lab was equipped with Neuron-Spectrum-AM system with synchronous video recording and Neurostim transcranial electrostimulator, to conduct the study.
