The professional communities of multiple sclerosis researchers working side by side with the neurological associations were organized all over the world. North-American and European committees already have a long history; the new committees have been established in Asia, Australia and Oceania, Central and South America (ECTRIMS, ACTRIMS, PACTRIMS и LACTRIMS) and some other countries.
The Russian Committee for Treatment and Research in Multiple Sclerosis (RUCTRIMS) was established in 2010 with the support of All-Russian Society of Neurologists. RUCTRIMS was legally registered in 2012 and the first congress took place in Kazan in 2013. The meetings of the Executive Committee of RUCTRIMS were held in Yaroslavl and Saint Petersburg in 2012 and 2014. Then these meetings became the basis for holding the further conferences on multiple sclerosis.
The second RUCTRIMS congress named “Multiple Sclerosis and other demyelinating diseases, issues in pathogenesis, diagnostics and therapy” will be held in September this year.
