Our magnetic stimulator Neuro-MS/D is used together with the navigation system Neural Navigator (Brain Science Tools BV) in De Hoogstraat clinics of Utrecht city (the Netherlands). De Hoogstraat is a large medical center where the patients suffering from the amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, fibromyalgia, paraplegia, multiple sclerosis and other disorders get the professional rehabilitation services.
Neuro-MS/D participates in the B-STARS project intended to study the impact of the noninvasive cortex stimulation on the restore of the motor functions of upper extremities after the stroke. The trial is performed by the group of specialists (Visser-Meily, Bart van der Worp, Rick Dijkhuizen and Eline van Lieshout) from Utrecht medical center Anne and De Hoogstraat rehabilitation center. Such projects usually involve 10 to 15 participants. This time 60 post-stroke patients participate in the trial. It can be safety said that this is the most large-scale project to study the motor skill restore in post-stroke patients.
