Chronic Inflammatory Demyelinating Polyneuropathy (CIDP) remains one of the most challenging immune-mediated neuropathies to confirm electrophysiologically. In 2021, the European Academy of Neurology and the Peripheral Nerve Society (EAN/PNS) published updated diagnostic criteria that significantly refined the electrodiagnostic approach and emphasized the role of additional electrophysiological markers of demyelination.
In this webinar, we will review the structure of the EAN/PNS 2021 diagnostic criteria for CIDP, with a particular focus on the electrodiagnostic component. Special attention will be given to the category of strongly supportive criteria for demyelination.
In addition, a practical section will demonstrate a feature of modern EMG software that allows clinicians to automatically integrate multiple electrophysiological parameters and quickly evaluate them against the EAN/PNS 2021 criteria. This approach simplifies the diagnostic workflow and reduces the cognitive load on the examiner, eliminating the need to mentally track numerous numerical parameters during data interpretation.
The webinar is intended for neurologists and clinical neurophysiologists involved in electrodiagnostic testing and the evaluation of peripheral nerve disorders.
Speaker: Alexander Chibirev — Neurologist, Neurosoft EMG medical consultant, the member of Russian Assosiation of Clinical Neurophisiology.
