5th Asian and Oceanian Congress of Clinical Neurophysiology (AOCCN) held in Bali, Indonesia from 28 to 31 of August the Indonesian society of transcranial magnetic stimulation was established. Society goals are spreading of knowledge in the field of TMS among Indonesian specialists, establishing competence standards for specialists, and method promotion. Dr Agus Solichien, our old partner, becomes the chairman of the established organization.

The Republic of Indonesia is a sovereign state in Southeast Asia and Oceania. It encompasses 34 provinces with over 238 million people, making it the world's fourth most populous country. First magnetic stimulators appeared there about 5 years ago, and now there are more than 50 medical institutions where TMS is used every day. So, the establishment of TMS society was the obvious and necessary step for further TMS development in this region.

Now, several words about the Congress. The International Congresses are held every four years, and the fifth meeting took place in Bali, Indonesia. Hundreds of specialist from Indonesia, Japan, Korea, Philippines, Malaysia, Australia, India, China and other countries gathered together at "the Island of the Gods" for four days to share knowledge and experience. Presentations and lectures connected with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis diagnostics, TMS, cortical plasticity, intraoperation monitoring were sounded. New diagnostics methods such as MUNE, SSEP to heat and laser stimuli, QPS were also discussed.

Leading manufacturers of medical equipment presented their latest developments at the exhibition held within the frameworks of the Congress. Neurosoft took part in the exhibition demonstrating Neuro-MS/D magnetic stimulator together with updated Neuro-MEP.NETω software. We enhanced it with a range of new TMS techniques such as MEP, CMCT, silent period, and intehemispheric inhibition.

During the exhibition we concluded several supply contracts with representatives of Asia-Pacific region. So, our hopes put on the Congress are already coming true!
